FOR THE THINGS YOU KEEP PUTTING OFF

Give “someday”
a deadline.

Read that chapter. Finish the workout. Send the application. Pick one thing, make a stake, and give yourself a reason to follow through.

Currently in testing on iOS and Android.

Put your word on the line.
Your money stays out of it.

ONE STAKE AT A TIME

A plan you can
actually finish.

You don't need a whole new routine.
Start with the next thing you want done.

01 / MAKE A STAKE

Be specific.

“Read more” is easy to postpone. “Read 20 pages by tonight” gives you somewhere to start. Set your deadline and difficulty, with milestones for bigger goals.

02 / DO THE THING

Bring the proof.

Finish before the deadline and submit proof. Check it yourself, invite a friend to be your witness, or put it to the community for review.

03 / KEEP GOING

See your effort add up.

Completed stakes earn XP and Leaves. Build a streak and collect badges as you go. Miss a deadline? A Setback can affect your next XP reward, but there's always a next stake.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
make a promise.

Does a stake mean I put money on the line?

No. Stakes are commitments inside the app. XP and Leaves are virtual rewards; creating a stake is not a bet, cash deposit, or financial investment. Optional paid features are separate from your stakes.

How does a friend become my witness?

Ask your friend first, then select friend verification and enter their email in the app. After you submit proof, they can receive a review request. If a request reaches the wrong person, they can contact us without reviewing the stake.

Why did I receive an email from The Lazy Tax?

It may relate to a requested account action, a witness review, requested beta access, or a support conversation. We explain the types on our email policy page. If you didn't expect a message, email thelazytax@gmail.com.

Can I start using the app today?

The app is currently in testing. Request beta access through Youform (opens in a new tab) to apply to test the app. We'll follow up with testing instructions.
