Information used by the app
- Account information: email address, username, sign-in provider, and an account identifier support authentication and your profile.
- Stakes and progress: goals, descriptions, deadlines, milestones, review decisions, XP, Leaves, streaks, and profile customization support the accountability features.
- Proof and witness details: submitted proof, including photos when you choose to upload them, and the email address of a friend you nominate as a witness support verification.
- Technical information: device notification tokens, app interactions, and diagnostic details help operate notifications, understand app use, and investigate errors. Feedback submitted from the app may include a diagnostic snapshot.
- Purchase information: purchase and subscription status may be used to provide paid features. Store payments are processed by the relevant app store.
Why we use this information
We use information to operate accounts, save your stakes, deliver requested account messages and witness review requests, verify proof, calculate progress, provide paid features, respond to support requests, and improve reliability.
What a reviewer can see
Your chosen verification mode determines who reviews a stake. A nominated witness or assigned community reviewer may see information needed to review the stake, including its goal and submitted proof. Only submit proof you are comfortable sharing with those reviewers. Avoid uploading sensitive personal information or other people's private information.
Service providers
The app uses Firebase for services including authentication, messaging, App Check, and usage analytics; Amazon Web Services for backend processing, data and proof storage, and transactional email; and RevenueCat and the app stores for subscription functionality. These providers process information needed to deliver their services.
Emails and witness addresses
A witness address is used to send a review request related to a stake. Ask the recipient before adding their address. An account verification or password-reset message is associated with the relevant account action. Read our email policy for details and how to report an unexpected message.
This informational website
This static website has no embedded signup form, advertising scripts, analytics scripts, or mailing-list subscription. Beta access links open an external form hosted by Youform; information you submit there is processed by Youform and used to respond to your testing request. We do not set cookies through this website's code. The service hosting the site may process request logs, such as an IP address and browser information. If you email us, your email provider and ours process that correspondence.
Retention, access, and deletion
Account and activity information is retained as needed to provide the service. To request access, correction, or deletion of your account information, contact thelazytax@gmail.com from your account email where possible. We may need to verify ownership. Some information may need to be retained for transaction records, security, dispute handling, or legal obligations; backups may persist for their retention period.
Your choices
You can choose what you enter in a stake, whether to upload proof photos, and which available verification mode to use. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings. Do not share secure review links: a link can provide access to the associated review.
