YOUR INBOX DESERVES RESPECT

Why we email.

Our emails support account access, accountability, requested testing access, and support conversations.

Witness review requests

A user can choose a friend as a witness for a stake. After that user submits proof, The Lazy Tax can send the nominated address a message with a subject such as “Review Request: Read 20 pages”. The message identifies the stake and provides a secure review link.

Users must ask a witness's permission before entering their address. The request is about that specific stake; it is not enrollment in a marketing list. A witness does not have to approve a stake or participate in a review.

Account verification and password resets

Messages related to account verification or password resets are handled by our authentication provider. A password-reset email should follow a password-reset request. If you did not request a reset, do not use the link; contact support if you are concerned.

Beta access and support

If you contact us to request testing access, we may email you the relevant enrollment instructions or testing updates. We also reply to messages you send to our support address. You can ask us to stop nonessential testing updates by replying or contacting support.

What we do not permit

We do not authorize use of our service for unsolicited marketing, bought or scraped mailing lists, or repeated unwanted witness requests. An address provided for a review is not permission to send unrelated promotional email. This website does not collect newsletter subscriptions.

Received something unexpected?
Email thelazytax@gmail.com with the subject and approximate date of the message. Ask us to stop further witness requests to your address. Do not send your password or forward a private review link.

Safe links and sensitive information

A review link may give access to the associated stake and proof. Treat it as private. We will not ask you to email your password or payment-card information. When unsure about a message, contact our support address directly instead of following its links.

Our email providers

The application uses Amazon SES for witness-review email delivery. Firebase Authentication handles authentication messages separately. Support and requested beta communications may be sent from our team's support mailbox. See our privacy policy for more about service providers and data use.
