The Lazy Tax helps you make commitments and follow through. These terms explain the ground rules.

The service
The app lets you create stakes, set deadlines, add milestones, submit proof, and use available verification methods. Progress may include XP, Leaves, streaks, badges, and leagues. The app is currently in testing; features and availability may change.
Stakes and virtual rewards
A stake is an accountability commitment, not a financial bet, investment, deposit, or tax payment. XP and Leaves are virtual app rewards with no promised cash redemption. Missing a deadline or failing a stake may affect your virtual progress according to the app's rules. Optional purchases for paid features are separate from creating a stake.
Your account and content
Keep your sign-in credentials secure and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for your use of the service and the goals, descriptions, evidence, and reviews you submit. Provide content you have the right to share. You allow us to process that content as needed to operate the features you use.
Witnesses and reviews
Get a friend's permission before using their email address as a witness. Submit honest proof and review decisions. Do not use witness requests to send unsolicited messages, harass people, advertise, or expose private information. Review links are intended for the nominated recipient and should not be shared.
Acceptable use
Do not upload illegal or harmful content, impersonate someone, exploit rewards, interfere with the service, or attempt to access another person's account or private proof. We may restrict abusive use or remove content that violates these rules.
Optional paid features
Where paid features are offered, the purchase screen explains the product, price, duration, and any applicable trial or renewal terms before purchase. App-store purchases are subject to the relevant store's billing, cancellation, and refund rules. Signing out or removing the app does not cancel a recurring subscription. Use the relevant store's subscription settings to manage renewal.
Testing and availability
Beta software can contain errors or become temporarily unavailable. Save your own copies of important information and do not rely on the app for safety-critical, medical, legal, or financial decisions. We cannot promise that every goal, reminder, notification, or review will be completed or delivered without interruption.
Privacy and account requests
Our privacy policy explains how information is used. Contact us to request help or account deletion. Deleting an app account does not itself cancel a subscription with an app store.
